Behind every great meal is a passionate chef, and this International Women’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our own- Chef Desiree. A culinary powerhouse, Chef Desiree has dedicated 16 years to perfecting her craft in an industry where women continue to break barriers. Originally from Mexico City, she earned her Grand Diplôme from Le Cordon Bleu, certifying her as both a Pastry and Cuisine Chef. With expertise spanning French, Italian, and Mexican cuisine, she brings a world of flavours to Marilu’s Market, where she has led our Prepared Foods and Bakery departments for over five years. Her passion? Creating high-quality, ready-to-go meals that make life easier (and more delicious!) for our customers. Seeing guests return for the dishes she and her team prepare is what fuels her every day. Today, we celebrate Chef Desiree and all the incredible women in culinary who inspire the next generation.
